To the Parents, Students and Patrons of Maxwell Schools:

Welcome to our website. We hope that this venue will provide you ample opportunity to learn more about Maxwell Municipal Schools. If you do not find what you are looking for, please feel free to call or email me with your questions. I will respond as soon as I can.

I am the new superintendent as of July 1, 2010. My wife and I have moved into the school house on Maxwell Avenue and have settled in. I look forward to the school year in anticipation of great energy and enthusiasm as we educate our children for the 21st Century.

To tell you a little about myself:
I have 34 years of experience in the school business in Texas and New Mexico. I live with my wife of 33 years and have two grown daughters and three grand-dogs. :) I was raised in Spur, Texas and went to school all of my educational years in Spur. My mom and dad still live in Spur. My interests lie in the school business. I love attending school activities and you will probably see me everywhere our kids are competing. As a school superintendent since 1994, I have not had the time to develop hobbies; however I love to play golf and bird hunt-I just do not have much time to do so. I am Methodist and you will find me on Sunday morning at the Maxwell Methodist Church if I am not preaching or traveling. [I am a certified Lay Speaker for the Methodist Conference.]

I believe in fairness, honesty, responsibility and accountability. As the only administrator in the school, I will deal with all aspects of school life and I welcome your suggestions and input. If your student makes a poor decision, I will notify you when the misbehavior is becoming an issue. Please don't be embarrassed or upset if I call or come by. All students make poor decisions occasionally. They need an adult to help them to make better decisions in the future. That's my job and yours-together I pray that we will graduate honest, trustworthy and ethical young men and women.

I look forward to meeting you.

Respectfully,
Joe Charles Harrison, Ed.D.
