Counseling Office Goals

Maxwell Counseling Office Goal(s):
-To provide comprehensive guidance and counseling services to the students and families within the Maxwell Municipal School District.
-To assist students in the completion of high school requirements resulting in graduation through the collaborative development and monitoring of four year plans.

-To assist all students in gaining awareness of career and educational opportunities beyond high school.

-To assist middle and high students in the development of personal, educational and career goals based upon interests and aptitudes including the administration and interpretation of career assessments.

-To assist students in the exploration, registration, and monitoring of IDEAL-NM courses and Dual Credit courses.

Please note that Mr. Salas is the Site Coordinator for IDEAL-NM and the Dual Credit Coordinator for Maxwell Municipal Schools; therefore, all questions regarding on-line learning opportunities for high school/middle school credit, as well as college courses for simultaneous college/high school credit should be referred to him at the following address: dsalas@maxwellp12.com .

-To assist students in research efforts regarding future plans by identifying external agencies and institutions providing training and/or programs of study needed to reach individual goals.

-To assist students with the implementation of a plan of action regarding personal, educational, and career goals.
-To provide all students and families with up-to-date resources to help facilitate the realization of personal, educational, and career goals.

-To provide on-going support and guidance to all students and their families in helping attain goals.
