We are looking forward to another great year. We will be having a mandatory parent and athlete meeting on August 7 at 6:00 p.m. in the school auditorium. This meeting is mandatory in order for your child to participate in athletics. If this date conflicts with your schedule, you will need to contact Amadeo Soto, Athletic Director at 575-447-3084 or 575-375-3018. There are many changes within our district policies as well with the New Mexico Activities Association that will bring out the very best in each of our students. We will strive to hold all parties accountable as we work to give our students, parents and community the best experiences possible. Before athletes will be allowed to practice they will need to make sure that they have completed the following: • Have a new physical on file with the school dated after April 1, 2017 • Completed the NFHS Student Concussion course at www.nfhslearn.com or https://nfhslearn.com/courses/61059/concussion-for-students . The course must be completed after April 1, 2017. • Signed Concussion acknowledgement form by students and parents. • The school must have record of student insurance Football practice will start on August 6th in Springer. If your child is interested in participating in Football you will need to contact Mr. Soto as soon as possible, so that proper arrangements can be made for your child. Cross Country and Volleyball practice will start on August 13. Coaches will go over the practice schedule with you at the August 7th meeting.
